Procession of Veteran Cars
Our member Tony Wring has been busy organising a grand procession of 40 veteran cars from the Veteran Car Club of Great Britain on Saturday 8th July. The cars will leave Clevedon Court, the home of the Elton family, at 11.30 am to drive through the lower part of the town and on to the seafront (closed to other traffic). The procession will be headed by a car built by RJ Stevens in 1899 at his works in The Triangle in Clevedon. Tony has been collaborating with Julia Elton in this venture. Julia who is well known for her interest in engineering and her stewardship of Brunel’s papers, gave us a talk about the great man some 5 years ago.
